Bernese Mountain DOG

While the even tempered Berner retains his watchdog instincts and is alert to anyone or anything that may be moving in on his family, he is never fierce or aggressive. He is Boisterous in puppyhood and retains a playful, outgoing personality as he grows up- some say that he is slow to mature. The Berner loves children and makes and excellent family dog.

Life Span: 7 to 10 years
Color: Black with tan and white markings.
Coat: Long, slightly wavy outer hair; profuse, soft undercoat.
Grooming: Weekly brushing; bathe weekly to monthly. Regular ear cleaning. Clip nails every two weeks. Clean teeth to remove plaque.
Height: 23 to 27.5 inches.
Weight: 75 to 110 pounds.
