Additional Information

Cavatzus are easy to maintain. Their coat is silky which rarely knots. They require grooming every 2-3 months. Their skin is sensitive so a good shampoo and conditioner is a must. Cavatzus love food. Some owners prefer a fresh diet for their Cavatzus. While this is not a necessity, it does give the dog a wonderful coat. Giving your pet a bone every 2-3 weeks is also a must as it keeps their breath smelling nice and their teeth clean.

Grooming Requirements

Cava-Tzus need a moderate amount of grooming and will need their coats brushed around twice a week. Depending on the coat length, they may need to be trimmed every so often, especially the hair around the ears. They do shed a moderate amount but the breed doesn’t need to be bathed often, only when necessary and always with a dog shampoo so it doesn’t irritate the skin. The Cava-Tzu is not regarded as a hypoallergenic breed. Brush your dog’s teeth daily if they allow it. It helps to start young so it becomes a habit.

Longevity

There lifespan is expected to be 10-15 years.
